Disney Books focuses primarily on fiction and nonfiction for young people. It includes the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars franchises as well as books from National Geographic. It published approximately 140 eBooks in the past year and 30 eAudiobooks. It also publishers a few titles for adults.
eBooks: the standard eBook licenses allows one loan at a time and expires after 26 loans. At a price of $15.14, the unit cost is relatively low, and comparable to the cost and lifespan of the print equivalent. RF Recommended.
eAudio: the standard eAudio license allows one loan at a time and does not expire. At an average price of $27.04, it exceeds the average price of the retail eAudio price ($18.83) with a markup of 44%. Since the license does not expire and Disney content is durably popular, RF considers this an RF Good Buy. Disney does not publish many of its own audiobooks however. For most of its books, the audio versions are outsourced to other publishers.
